We are recent retirees to Windsor. We moved here last spring from Maryland when we received our permanent residency in Canada. To our amazement, most Windsorites’ have a huge inferiority complex.
Also most of the letters I read here are full of gripes.
Here are some of the many things we love about our new life: You have numerous beautifully designed and impeccably maintained parks. Snow removal is timely and efficient. Garbage and recycling are always on time. Violent crime is very low because police are doing a fine job. During the extensive renovations on our terrific old house, we dealt with plumbers, painters, plasterers, electricians, carpenters, etc. All were unfailingly professional, efficient and responsible.
We enjoy a wide variety of activities that are easily accessed: sailing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, biking, canoeing, square dancing, bridge and long walks along the wonderful paths of the riverfront.
We love the pubs and restaurants. Concerts and theatres are plentiful, the art gallery is lovely.
Most of all, the people we meet everywhere are helpful, friendly and always courteous.
You have a lot to be proud of in Windsor. We are so glad to be here
